interop.io Takes Home AFTA Award Win

In a rapidly evolving financial services landscape, interop.io is helping IT teams manage and modernize application ecosystems. Through cutting-edge desktop interoperability solutions, we enable organizations to streamline workflows, reduce dependencies on legacy systems, and maximize their technology investments.

Our efforts in driving innovation have been recognized, earning us the American Financial Technology Award (by Waters Technology) for Most Innovative Third-Party Technology Vendor – Infrastructure in 2024.

Desktop interoperability is a transformative approach to help financial services IT teams take control of their application infrastructure.

By leveraging an orchestration layer to streamline app ecosystems, we help organizations break free from the constraints of legacy systems and harness the potential of their technology investments.

Innovation means building scalable, flexible infrastructures that support rapid deployment, ensure continuous integration of emerging technologies, and help IT teams to efficiently manage and modernize their app ecosystems without disruption.

Key Mechanisms for Driving Innovation

  • Loosely Coupled Components: Encourage independent development and deployment of frontend components, reducing dependencies and simplifying maintenance.
  • Scalability: Scale apps horizontally by adding or replacing frontend modules as needed, aligning with business growth and evolving user requirements.
  • User-Centric Design: Tailor user interfaces to specific roles or workflows, enhancing productivity across the organization.

Recent Innovations

Over the past year, we’ve introduced groundbreaking advancements, including:

  • Desktop Interoperability Maturity Model: Helping firms assess their interop capabilities and benchmark against peers.
  • Rapid Micro-Frontend Decomposition: Transforming a hedge fund’s legacy systems into agile, customized workspaces in under 30 days with one developer.
  • Enhanced Analytics: Expanding io.Connect Browser with Open Telemetry to track web app user behavior and optimize workflows.

Looking Ahead

We’re introducing “Cloud Bridging” between different interoperability providers, allowing firms to connect platforms like interop.io, solving the multi-container issue.

We’re also looking forward to introducing clients to io.Bridge, which allows workflows across any type of application and any device.

We recently announced a Free Partnership Edition and Developer’s Sandbox to promote industry adoption of FDC3-interop.

Why Innovation Matters

“Interoperability has been essential for business users to streamline workflows and boost efficiency, but technologists encounter their own challenges,” said Dan Schleifer, President and Co-founder of interop.io. “It’s becoming a fundamental part of IT architecture, enabling technologists to simplify how they build, manage, and eventually retire systems. By addressing both business and technical needs, interoperability is driving long-term sustainability and innovation in how organizations approach technology.”

End-User Perspective

“As we grow our portfolio, so does our need for integration of systems and processes. interop.io enables us to integrate our proprietary applications and algorithms with newly acquired web applications without the need to discard existing technology investments. As such they serve as the foundation to our technical blueprint and drive its success.” – Kelly Perkins, Chief Investment Officer, North Rock Capital

Winning the American Financial Technology Award for Most Innovative Third-Party Technology Vendor – Infrastructure underscores our commitment to driving transformative change in the financial services sector. We remain steadfast in helping our clients innovate, scale, and thrive in an ever-changing technological landscape.
