FDC3 for the Web: Webinar On Demand

FDC3 has taken a major step forward with its first production-ready codebase — built specifically for the web. In a recent webinar, interop.io explored FDC3 for the Web, highlighting how this new capability makes it easier than ever to bring interoperable workflows to browser-based applications.

Hosted by interop.io, the webinar featured insights from Leslie Spiro, CEO and Co-founder, and Juliana Langston, Senior Software Engineer and FDC3 Maintainer. Together, they walked through how FDC3 for the Web allows browser-based applications to participate fully in FDC3-based workflows.

Leslie Spiro opened the session with background on the FDC3 standard and its evolution within the FINOS open source community. “FDC3 is an open standard for application interoperability,” he explained, “but it’s not just for financial services — it’s relevant to any domain looking to integrate apps in a flexible, standardized way.”

A highlight of the event was a live demo led by Juliana Langston, demonstrating how developers can write a single application that runs seamlessly in a standard browser, an FDC3-enabled browser, or a desktop container — without changing the code. “The idea is to reduce friction,” she noted. “FDC3 for the Web gives you the ability to build once and run anywhere with interoperability baked in.”

The conversation also addressed common implementation challenges, especially the integration of legacy technologies, and emphasized the importance of community involvement. “The standard is shaped by those who show up,” Spiro said. “You don’t need to be a FINOS member to contribute — you just need to participate.”

Watch the webinar on demand to learn more about FDC3 for the Web, how it works, and why it’s a significant step forward for browser-based interoperability.
